When air is compressed the internal pressure of the molecules increase thereby increasing the temperature of the system...following pressure law which state "pressure is directly proportional to temperature at constant volume"
So i think the ans is D.

The correct answer is D. The temperature increases

Once you compress the air, the molecules of the air come closer to each other and thus due to random movements of these molecules collision rate increases rapidly generating heat and causing rise in the temperature, this is in accordance with law of thermodynamics.

myschool the answer should be D because when air is compressed the collision of the particle will increase thereby increasing the temperature.

is gay lucass law the same as pressure law

You've not changed the answer to D in the Cbt. Please do so.

So many undrawn diagrams in the Cbt questions. Please fix this.
It's really unfair.

No,u re getting it wrong, volume is rather directly prop. to Temperature as long as pressure remains constant,as gases condense or compressed their temperature decreases(they become colder),the selected answer is correct

No, it decreases, from Charles law , volume is directly proportional to temperature, so as the pressure increases , volume decreases and temperature decreases

MySchool please why have you not corrected the answer to D because pressure is directly proportional to tempreature. REF; General Gas equation.

From the software version u gave the answer to the density decreases but here u put it to be the temperature increases, my school what is going on, please stop confusing Nigerians that are not privileged to go to standard schools for sharp brain

Charles' law. Volume is directly proportional to temperature

I was a bit confused because according to Charles'law
Pressure is inversely proportional to Temperature which means the temperature is supposed to decrease but as the AI explained unless the potential energy gotten from compression is expended out of the container as heat the temperature will increase due to the increase in potiental energy gotten from compression and the increased collision of the gas molecules due to the reduced space which explains Gay Lussac's law.

I choose C you guys missed it, 🤷Compressing the air makes the molecules move more rapidly, which increases the temperature. This phenomenon is called “heat of compression”. Compressing air is literally to force it into a smaller space and as a result bringing the molecules closer to each other.
