Alkanoate is a reaction between alkanoic acid and alkanol

Which means RCOOH + ROH

RCOOH dissociate thus RCOO + H+ AND alkanol disciociate thus R + OH- the H+ bond with OH- which give water and RCOO+R which give alkanoate RCOOR
