In KLMN Shell configuration is always in terms of 2, 8, 8, 8....
For atomic number 14
We have 2 + 8 + 4 = 14
Therefore, the configuration is 2, 8, 4
The last value is the number of electron in the outermost shell...and in this case we have '4'
