It is A because there is addition of oxygen to the first reactant and removal of oxygen from the second reactant giving the required product

The answer choosing by Myschool is very correct because one of the properties of H2S is that it can only acts as reducing agent and precipitating agent and can never acts as oxidizing agent... Check Sulphur and its compounds

SO2 has the ability to acts as both Oxidizing and reducing agent...
Hence in this case ,

H2S acts as reducing agent( reductant) which undergo oxidation to form H2O and SO2 as oxidizing agent ( Oxidant) which is reduced to Ordinary sulphur...

I wonder why i never saw in textbooks that reductant is another name for reducing agent while oxidant is another name for oxidizing agent.

Ideally the Reactant that undergoes Reduction shold be the Reductant and oxidizing agent, while the One that undergoes Oxidation should be the oxidant and reducing agent

But no, Chemistry wan just stress person.
