we are calculating for the charges,both for the reactant and the product
MnO4^_ is -1
8H+ is 8*1which is 8
for the product side Mn2+ is 2
and 4H2O which has no charge so 4*0 is 0
reactant 8-1=product 2

it's correct guys
8-1=7
7+ x=+2( on the other side)
x=2-7=5 .
therefore the ions are balanced
