This is where you guys are missing it.option A was wrong because non metal like carbon(graphite) do conduct electricity.option B was also wrong because non mental like Carbon (diamond) do have higher density than some of the so called metals like potassium, sodium (which do float on water).option C was also wrong because although some metals like potassium and sodium etc form basic oxide; some metals like lead(Pb), zinc(Zn), tin(Sn) etc form amphoteric oxide. Remember that amphoteric oxides are oxides that have both acidic and basic properties i.e they can behave both as an acid and base.so it's different from basic oxide.option D was also wrong because though some metals like sodium, potassium , Calcium, Iron, zinc, Aluminium etc all these are above hydrogen in the electrochemical series. But some metals like copper, gold, silver, etc are below hydrogen in the electrochemical series. But all non metals are below hydrogen in the electrochemical series.so, as all non metals are below hydrogen in the series, some metals are also below hydrogen. Option E is correct because in any reactions involving oxidation and reduction. Metals( reducing agents) do loss electron(s) while non metals(oxidixing agents) gain electron(s) so option E is correct.
