i don't think the question is correct, so NONE OF THE ABOVE is the best answer for that because the mass before heating and after heating is the same even though they said oxygen was given off

The question here is trickish a bit. A mercury oxide has a specific mass, and if heated to remove oxygen, the mass of the residue should be decreased, but instead stayed the same. So, the formula of the mercury oxide can't be calculated for. So, option E is the right answer.
