The naturally produced auxin in plants is Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). It is the most common, abundant, and potent natural auxin found in vascular and lower plants. IAA is synthesized primarily in the apical meristems (growing tips) of stems and roots, young leaves, and developing seeds, typically from the amino acid tryptophan.
