You guys need to know the mind of the examiner.. He asked about Insects being the most successfup amongst all INVERTEBRATES .. Lets note the word INVETEBREATE. In English > Emphatic stress .. We would see that he wants us to reason why insects could survive without backbone.. As an invetebrate. But what helps insects over other inveterbrates like earthworm.. Is their ability to have a skeleton.. An Exoskeleton.. Tho the fact that it possesses an exoskeleton does not make it vetebrate.. But it helps in stands out because it has something used in place real back bone.. Use your head ... Its Possession of Exoskeleton . thats the answer..

Insects are considered the most successful among the invertebrates because they:
B. survive in various environmental conditions
Insects have adapted to survive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, high altitudes, and aquatic environments. They have evolved a variety of physical and behavioral adaptations, such as wings for flight, camouflage, mimicry, and social organization, which have enabled them to colonize nearly every terrestrial habitat on earth. In addition, insects are extremely diverse, with over a million known species, and are ecologically important as pollinators, decomposers, and prey for other animals.

I'll go for option A. Not all insects have wings as well as not all insects can survive extremely cold environments i think.

Insects are considered the most successful among the invertebrates because they:
**B. survive in various environmental conditions**
Insects' success is largely due to their ability to adapt to a wide range of environments, their diverse diets, and their various reproductive strategies. While features like exoskeletons, wings, and metamorphosis contribute to their adaptability, their overall success is attributed to their versatility in surviving in different environmental conditions.

Do note that only the order "insecta" was mentioned. If the answer was possessioj of exoskeleton, myriapoda, arachnida and crusteceans also possess exoskeleton. There was no mention of the sub-phylum "arthropod", just "insecta."
I'd choose B as my answer since it reaonates more with the question and is quite specific.

Ooo f**k up, invertebrates did not have back bone,I just remembered but the exoskeleton in insect made it successful

I have so many reasons to agree with myschool. At first i thought d answer was possession of exoskeletons, anyways i've outgrown dat. D answer is their ability to fly. From d question it says, what makes them "Successful". In animals, being successful means(1) d ability to endure unfavourable conditions; and as we all know not all insects can survive can survive in extremely cold environment or aquatic habitats (2) being successful also means d ability to grow during its lifetime. To grow dey must eat, and to eat dey must find food, and i tink we also know dat 4 dem to find food they must move. Now d possession of wings makes them go quickly to locations where there food, i know u must b tinking, "wat of their legs is it 4 fancy", it is in dis case u reflect to d question " what makes insects successful than other invertebrates". Other invertebrates have legs as well, so what makes insects successful than dey ar or rather wat makes them get food quickly than other invertebrates is their ability to fly.(3) being successful than other invertebrates means d ability to reproduce better. 4 reproduction to take place it must b done at a suitable environment, just as a bird or hen looks for a hidden, warm or inaccessible place to others to lay their eggs; so do insects do. And to get to this convenient places, there nothing exoskeleton has to do there instead it would be better saying that d possession of wings makes dem find and do dis better (4) lastly, to be successful means d ability to "Survive",by d word survive i mean staying alive or avoiding predation or not dying. 4 insects to avoid predation dey either use chemicals or move out from dangerous areas using their wings instead of the legs bcos it is much faster. (Summary) a mosquito is an insect, it gets food quickly (blood) by flying to any part of ur body and then sucks, when u try it kill it, it flies off using its wings which is a feature which no other invertebrates has, u end up slapping ur self. Moreso wen termites want to migrate to get better opportunities, they migrate using their wings not their legs nor their exoskeletons.

Myschool, the answer is B,insect can survive in any environment.pls u people should correct the answer

Do u guys do your research before concluding your answers. From my research, the answer the admin chose is very correct. Why ? Because Successful in biology means having the ability to survive and reproduce. Insects can fly to escape predation[ survive] and insects fly to search for mates [reproduce]. You can now see that the answer the admin chose is correct?

One distinguish feature btw insects and other animals is their ability to survive in any environment. B is the answer myschool please take note.
