Bush rats, like many other species of rats and rodents, are well-known burrowing animals. They construct intricate underground tunnel systems, or burrows, to provide shelter, store food, raise their young, and protect themselves from predators and harsh environmental conditions.
B. Dove: Doves are birds that typically build nests above the ground in trees, on cliffs, or on man-made structures, not in burrows.
C. Chameleon: Chameleons are reptiles that primarily live in trees and bushes (arboreal habitats). They do not dig burrows for habitation.
D. Snails: Snails are mollusks; while some land snails may bury themselves in soil or under leaf litter to estivate (a form of hibernation) or lay eggs, they do not create complex, permanent burrows as their natural habitat in the way rodents do.
