Hemophilia is a rare, genetic blood disorder that happens when your blood doesn't clot and make your bleeding slow down or stop.Most people who have hemophilia are born with it. It is inherited (passed down) from a parent to a child.It is a chromosomally linked recessive disorder, the result of a mutated gene on the X chromosome. Because those assigned male at birth only have one X chromosome, they can develop hemophilia if they inherit the altered gene.
The X-linked recessive inheritance pattern explains why hemophilia is more common in males than females. Females can be carriers of the mutated gene, but they are less likely to develop the disorder themselves. In summary, hemophilia in humans controlled by recessive genes.
