Loam soil is considered the "friendliest" soil to cultivate. It's also relatively resistant to drought, warms up early in the spring, and is moderately easy to work. Loamy soil has moderate porosity. Loam is a mixture of sand, silt, and clay in roughly equal amounts, which results in a soil that's airy and not too dry.
Sandy soil :Highly porous because it's made up of large granules and sometimes pebbles. Sandy soil loses moisture easily.
Clayey soil: Very low porosity because it's made up of very fine particles that are tightly packed together. Clayey soil is sticky and heavy.
