D. Temperate deserts. Hint: Summers are usually hotter and winters are usually warmer in desert regions. Treeless vegetation is characteristic of regions where the precipitation is low and the atmospheric humidity is also low

. Steppe grasslands are characterized by a temperate climate with hot summers and cold winters, but they do have vegetation in the form of grasses and sometimes scattered trees or shrubs. Therefore, the correct answer is B. Temperate deserts, which have a similar climate to steppe grasslands but lack significant vegetation.

The correct answer is: A. Steppe grasslands
Explanation:
Steppe grasslands are characterized by:
Hot summers and warm (but not extremely cold) winters
Treeless, grassy vegetation
Semi-arid climate
Temperate deserts can have more extreme cold in winter.
Savannah grasslands typically have scattered trees and are found in tropical regions.
Tropical deserts (like the Sahara) are much hotter year-round and extremely dry.
So, the combination of hot summer, warm winter, and treeless vegetation best describes steppe grasslands.
