What is the outermost embryonic membrane?
The chorion is the outermost membrane around the embryo in mammals, birds and reptiles. It develops from an outer fold on the surface of the yolk sac, which lies outside the vitteline envelope and is developed by the follicle cells while the egg is in the ovary.

for me chorion is the outermost membrane, the allantois is the middle membrane while amnion is the innermost membrane.

chorion, also called Serosa, in reptiles, birds, and mammals, the outermost membrane around the embryo.

this is absurd...chorion is the outermost part of an egg while amnion is the innermost part..so how on earth is the answer amnion ????

Amnion's first seen before chorion, hence,it's Amnion.
Also remember that Amnion forms the protective cover to the embryo and aids in absorbing any external shock.
