Most of the past questions i have searched wrote thst the answer to the question is REPTILES. Though some apps said pisces, some amphibians but you see this "birds",this is the firdt time i am seeing it as an answer. So please let's re-check.

I have made my own research on this
The correct answer is A..
This is from different sources, including Google, Remix and Modern Biology itself
Mammals evolved from reptiles(Triassic reptiles)
Mammals evolved separately from birds and not directly from birds
The correct answer is A
U can check it up in Modern Biology, page 540
Thanks

Please this argument on what mamals evolved from is taking us nowhere please review them and tell us exactly what d answer is to prevent further mistakes

Mammal evolved directly from bird.. it was bird that evolved from Amphibians

according to my research .the only acceptable Option is A go to advance level biology to read that.

mammal evolved from synapsids ( old reptiles ) .burds and mammals are not in any way related evolution ally

Yes the correct option is reptiles
but i taught that jamb mark questions according to their recommend text booke
in the syllabus??

myschool please look into this o, mammals evolved from birds, not frogs.....amphibians evolved into reptiles, while reptiles evolved into birds, then birds became mammals...pls don't get it twisted, Una don make me lose points now

The correct answer is A. Reptiles.
Mammals are generally believed to have evolved from a group of reptiles called synapsids, which lived during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras. The most recent common ancestor of all mammals is thought to have lived around 320-300 million years ago, during the Carboniferous period.
The synapsids gave rise to two distinct groups:
1. Sauropsids (reptiles and birds)
2. Synapsids (mammals and their extinct relatives)
Over time, the synapsids evolved characteristics such as:
- Warm-bloodedness (endothermy)
- Hair or fur
- Mammary glands
- Three middle ear bones (ossicles)
- Live birth and nourishment of young with milk
These characteristics distinguish mammals from reptiles and other animals.
The other options are not correct:
B. Fish: Mammals did not evolve from fish, although they share some common ancestors.
C. Amphibians: Mammals did not evolve from amphibians, which are a distinct group of animals that evolved from fish-like ancestors.
D. Birds: Mammals and birds evolved from different groups of reptiles (synapsids and sauropsids, respectively).

The correct answer is A ā Reptiles.
Explanation
Mammals are believed to have evolved from a group of reptile-like ancestors called synapsids during the late Triassic period. These reptiles gradually developed features that later became typical of mammals.
Some evolutionary changes included:
Development of hair or fur
Warm-blooded (endothermic) metabolism
Mammary glands for feeding young
More advanced jaw and ear bones
Because of these transitional forms, mammals are considered to have most recently evolved from reptiles, not fish, amphibians, or birds.
ā
Correct option: A ā Reptiles
Amphibians evolved from fish
Reptiles evolved from amphibians
Birds evolved from reptiles (especially dinosaur-like reptiles)
Mammals also evolved from reptile-like ancestors

The correct answer is Amphibians C
My school needs to correct it again.
Mammals and birds are believed to have separately evolved from Amphibians
C is the correct answer ā
