Vitamin K is necessary for the production of prothrombin and clotting factors II, VII, and IX in the liver. Vitamin K is the only fat soluble vitamin that can be produced by intestinal bacteria. Vitamin K deficiency leads to inadequate blood clotting and excessive hemorrhaging.

When you see VITAMIN K = think PRODUCTION OF CLOTTING FACTORS
