yes option C is correct rhizoid is only found in the gametophyte(protallus) stage for anconrage, the sporophyte stages which is the dominant stage of a ferns do not have rhizoid but rather have true root and stem, remember ferns have vascular bundles just like flowering plant

Chloroplasts
Why this is correct (step by step):
Ferns have alternation of generations, meaning they exist in two forms:
Sporophyte (the large leafy fern plant)
Gametophyte (the small, heart-shaped prothallus)
Let’s check each option:
A. Rhizoids ❌
Present only in the gametophyte (used for anchorage). The sporophyte has true roots instead.
B. Roots ❌
Present only in the sporophyte. The gametophyte lacks true roots.
C. Chloroplasts ✅
Both sporophytes and gametophytes are photosynthetic, so both contain chloroplasts.
D. Leaves ❌
Present only in the sporophyte. The gametophyte has no true leaves.

In the life cycle of a fern, both the sporophyte (the dominant, leafy plant stage) and the gametophyte (the tiny, heart-shaped prothallus) are free-living and autotrophic. Because both stages must produce their own energy through photosynthesis, they both contain chloroplasts.
