The number of chromosomes in a body cell (somatic cells) is known as diploid number is double the number of chromosomes in a gamete known as haploid number
where by haploid number is = n
and diploid is = 2n
therefore n= 20 chromosomes in the gamete and
2n i.e 2(20) = 40 chromosomes is the somatic cell or body cell thus making option C correct ✅
