gill raker helps in feeding by retaining the food in the filter feeder.....FEEDING is the answer

The gill raker serves as a filter in fishes to seperate solid particles from (during) the intake of liquid.

The gill rakers, helps to separate solid particles from the water flowing through the gills.
I.e it is aids respiration

, when i saw the question again, I was like since this algorithm recognises this option lemme take it, and i was marked wrong again, nawaoh

pls myschool review your answers to your questions, some of them are wrong, gill raker is used in feeding in and not in respiration.

(in fish) one of a series of stiff projections along the inner margins of the branchial arches that prevent food particles from passing through the branchial clefts.

The gill raker of fishes takes part in feeding.
Gill rakers are bony or cartilaginous projections found in the gills of most fishes. They are arranged in a comb-like structure and help to prevent large particles from entering the gill chamber, while allowing water to flow through. Gill rakers also help in capturing food particles from the water.
As water passes over the gill rakers, they trap food particles such as plankton, detritus, and other small organisms, which are then moved towards the pharynx for ingestion. In this way, gill rakers play an important role in feeding in fishes.
Respiration in fishes occurs through the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide across the gills, while swimming is achieved through the movement of fins and the body muscles. Diffusion is a process of passive transport of molecules across a membrane, which occurs in various physiological processes, including respiration. However, in the context of gill rakers, their primary function is related to feeding.
