The root hairs does not originate from the pericycle because the pericycle itself lies inside the endodermis;
The answer should have being the piliferos layer but because it is not included in the option ,so we would go for epidermis because the piliferous layer is one of the epidermal part of the root

don't confuse piliferous layer with pericycle, which would been the answer if it was in the options. the closest answer now is the epidermis

Correct.... Root hairs originates from the epidermal cells, but lateral roots have their origin in pericycle.

Textbooks supports the fact that root hairs originate from pericycle and moreover endodermis and epidermis are not found in root but stem.

Root hair originate from piliferous layer.
Since piliferous layer is not in d option.
In d diagram of a root there is nothing like epidermis.
Before piliferous layer is pericycle.
Pericycle is d answer.
