The mistke is that they write 2nd wich is sencond insted 2n.

if the correct one is 2n the answer will be 8

but if its 2nd the answer will be 32.


because 2n represent diploid .

but there is no ( 2nd ) in the representation of chromosomes in biology

but still if we use our sense , 2nd means second , so definately the first one must be same as the 2nd

which is 16 + 16 to give us 32

Since the 2nd set of chromosomes number 16, the total chromosomes in the organism should be 32.
Therefore, half that number (32/2) should be contained in the gametes (=16).
It my opinion anyway, thanks.
