ah ah! @myschool..the eardrum(tympanum) is not for balance, its the first site of vibration which is later converted to nerve impulse by the cochlea..the semi-circular canals, utriculus, sacculus are found in the LABYRINTH(inner ear) it is filled with fluid called ENDOLYMPH..the answer is tympanum..please@myschool rectify this..

The typanum(ear drum) is located in outer ear which comprises with the pinna and auditory meatus(presence of hairs and also an ubication for secretion of cerumen-ear wax)....This portion does not contains any fluid substance.

The others in the option are situated in the inner ear....The inner ear contains a complex of bony passageways called bony labyrinth filled with a fluid called perilymph. And within these passageways are membraneous sacs and tubes(membraneous labyrinth) filled with another fluid called Endolymph.....

so the exact conspectus is that the CORRECT answer is C

The answer is C tympanum, the utriculus, sacculus and semi-circular canals are all used in balance meaning they contain endolymph. But the tympanum wich is used in hearing does not contain endolymph
