Breathing involves exchange of gases between the respiratory organs and the environment as defined above

Respiration is chemical reaction which takes place in all living cells, which involves the breaking down of food to release energy, usually by combining with oxygen.

why should the answer be breathing and not respiration?
from the basic understanding of respiration, it is clear that respiration is an act of breath in and out by living organism and it can as well be defined as a process where by living organism carry out gaseous exchange, In this, it is implied that the correct answer to the above question should be "RESPIRATION".
In another vein, breathing gives us more information on respiration and therefore, it only explains respiration.
