Decrease=Hypertonic(Involve movement of water out of the cell - thereby causing the cell to decrease). Increase=Hypotonic(just accumtion and increasing cell).

Decease=Hypertonic

Increase=Hypotonic

water moves from region of high water potential to regions of low water potential. In hypertonic

solution the water potential is low therefore water diffuses out of the cell into the solution, causing shrinking and vice versa for hypotonic solution

D is the correct Answer hypertonic solution here water moves out of the cell which causes shrinkage. while in hypotonic solution water moves into the cell causing it to expand... isotonic solution here has thesame amount of concentrates which makes the cell look same in shape..

Pls selected answer was wrong.... hypotonic solution is lower in concentration than the cell while hypertonic is higher in concentration than the cell
