Decrease=Hypertonic(Involve movement of water out of the cell - thereby causing the cell to decrease). Increase=Hypotonic(just accumtion and increasing cell).

water moves from region of high water potential to regions of low water potential. In hypertonic
solution the water potential is low therefore water diffuses out of the cell into the solution, causing shrinking and vice versa for hypotonic solution
