Poxviruses are a family of viruses that cause a wide range of diseases in humans and animals. They are large, complex viruses that infect a variety of cells in the body. Some of the most common poxviruses are variola virus (the cause of smallpox), vaccinia virus (used in the smallpox vaccine), and molluscum contagiosum virus. Other poxviruses cause diseases such as chickenpox, cowpox, and monkeypox. Poxviruses are characterized by their ability to form large, brick-shaped particles, which are visible under a microscope.

Pox viruses are responsible for any disease with pox in its name, e.g., pox, chickenpox, etc. So to remember the virus or its related disease, just remember the pox.
