yes because hypo tonic sol. is a week one and it involves gain of water. e.g pure water while hypertonic is a strong sol. and it involves lose ie shrinkage of cell. isotonic is one that is in equilibrium ie not week not strong..

If a cell is placed in hypotonic solution e.g(H2O) the cell swells up and burst i.e haemolysis occurs
if placed in a hypertonic solution e.g(salt solution) the cell shrink and crinkles.
If placed in isotonic solution,the cell is unaffected
