the correct answer is E and this is because

distilled water is hypotonic leading to endo-osmosis hence the cell will but and it dies

NOTE
- take D only if it is specified that the cell is a plant
coz plants increased pressure due to excess water is resisted by the rigid cell wall hands the cell become more turgid as no bursting or rapture is encountered

E is very correct when the type of cell is not specified.It is D only if it's a plant cell.
plant cell become turgid because they have cell wall which is strong enough to avoid bursting

Correct answer here is E...note "for a long time". Yes! the cell will become turbid but it will burst due to excess turbidity.
