The question seems to be wrong
*Mucor and Rhizopus are two different organisms in the same kingdom...hence, there is nothing like mucor of rhizopus
*B and C are both correct
A fungus cannot be a plant if it does not possess chlorophyll nor store carbohydrate as starch
A fungus does not possess a cellulose cell wall,it possesses a chitin cell wall same way bacteria and cyanophyta possess polysaccharide cell wall instead of cellulose cell wall

d correct answer should be option B....bcos rhizopus does not belong to d plant kingdom but to d kingdom "fungi"....its cell wall is made up of chitin....but lets remember dat it may also contain cellulose.

I don't think C is the answer Cos If It is said to be a plant ... It should have cellulose cell wall lyk every other plant cell

the answer is absolutely c cos it is a fungi which does not have chlorophyll instead it cell wall is made of chitin instead of cellulose

The answer is C bcos, though it is a plant but has no chlorophyl.....this suggest why it is saprophytic in mode of feeding.it is a plant but not a green one.Lolz.well that's the fact.

I agree wit u all. The ans C. A fungi can possess part of plant xteristics bt nt to dat of cell wall, bcos it cellwall consists of a chitinous cpd made out of nitrogen.

Yeah it's C because the Hyphal cell wall of fungi although it's a plant is made up of Chitin (protein) and not Cellulose.

The statement that is not true for Mucor or Rhizopus is:

B. Is a plant

Mucor and Rhizopus are fungi, not plants. They belong to the kingdom Fungi and are commonly found growing on moist dead organic matter. They lack chlorophyll and reproduce as*xually through spores. Their cell walls are made of chitin, not cellulose, which is characteristic of plants.

I think the correct answer is D because mucor actually have to ways of reproduction
1. they reproduce s*xually by producing spore not as*xually
2. they reproduce as*xually through sporangia
