I dont think it is photosynthesis in roots cuz it can only be carried out by chlorophil which are only present in the leaves and stems and if you thinking abt saying plants lyk cassava or potato. It cannot be used in a culture medium. So it is definetely C

think about it this way have u heard of eutrophication,it is caused by much mineral salt that help in their growt (algae bloom) essentially they require the same mineral as any other plant ,for thier growth. when this process occurs it will suffocate the root from oxygen uptake leading to death of the plant,it is a gradual process.dont be deceived many minerals cant be broken by sunlight.nitrate , carbonate,suffate and other important one are stable to light ( chemistry) photolysis is not always that spontaneous

Because rays of light can break down mineral substance, that is more of the reason we are advice to keep our drugs in a cool and dry place. So in this question the bottle is darken in order to prevent the breakdown of mineral resources.
Even vegetables are advice not to heat them so as to prevent loss of vitamin A in them.
