the ans is correct because the plant respires. as d plant respires, the food in it gets oxidized to release energy as CO2 and H2O are given off as by products.

yes itz true..this is because oxygen is necessary for aerobic respiration,in which we know that energy is produced. Germination is an energy consuming process...
