A tourniquet is a device for stopping the flow of blood through a vein or artery, typically by compressing a limb with a cord or tight bandage.

The correct answer is:
D. Keep still and apply a tourniquet above the wound

This helps slow the spread of venom through the bloodstream. Movement can accelerate circulation and worsen the effects. However, it's important to note that modern first aid typically recommends a pressure immobilization bandage rather than a tight tourniquet, which can cause tissue damage if too tight or left too long. Keeping the affected limb still and below heart level is crucial until medical help arrives.

Do not apply a tourniquet to a snake bite! applying a tourniquet worsens the situation as it can trap the vernom in a tissue causing literal damage stopping the flow of blood which is not advisable. Cleaning with clean water and antiseptic is a safer option

tourniquet isnt advisable because they can restrict blood flow which can trap the venom in the bitten limb leading to higher concentration of the venom in that area
