Auxin: Promotes cell elongation, organ formation, and differentiation. Auxin is responsible for the overall growth of plants, including stem elongation and root growth.
Cytokinin: Responsible for cell division in meristematic tissues. Cytokinins are located in the root and shoot tips of plants.
Gibberellin: Responsible for stem, root, and seed growth. Dwarf plants can be treated with gibberellins to promote stem growth.
Ethylene: Responsible for the aging of plants. Ethylene is a gas that is released from ripening fruit.
Abscisic acid (ABA): Responsible for the dormancy of different organs such as the lateral buds and seeds of plants.
