for photosyntsis to place water must be involve,sunlight also, so when the wate moleculs come in contact with light they breaking to lebrate oxyge to atmosphere,which is later used by animals n so othe plant.

During photsynthesis,water is photolysed,split into Hydroden ion and hydroxonium ion. the hydroxonium ion then react togetyer to release oxygen.

There oxygen gotten from water is obtained by the spliting of water through sunlight in a process known as PHOTOLYSIS

in the presence of light, the chlorophyl is energised and supplies energy which is used to break water molecules obtained from the soil into hydroxyl and hydrogen ions H2O--> OH + H (this process is called photolysis of water).The hydroxyl ions are later converted to water and oxygen gas 4OH --> 2H2O + O2. i.e the oxygen given off during photosynthesis is gotten from soil water.
