I taught the answer suppose to be medullary ray because it is in the woody plant

Although both Xylem and Pholem parenchyma performs similar functions
But majorly.. Xylem parenchyma transfers water from the root tip to the shoot part of the plant whereas the phloem parenchyma transfers the nutrients and manufactured food from the site of photosynthesis to various parts of plants in downward direction
All the components of Xylem Tissues conducts and transport water except for the Xylem fibres which provide mechanical supports

Had it mean Xylem Parenchyma is in the options,it would have been the best answer
But indirectly all components of Xylem transports water which makes option A correct

The correct Ans is Ç
sieve tube ( is a xylem tissue) which helps in conductance of water and passage of minerals.
The xylem fibre is just like the sclerenchyma fibre which gives flexibility in woody plants

The Correct answer to this question is option E.
Ploem parenchyma and xylem parenchyma have the same functions.
Their functions are:
1. They help to transport food and water.
2. They help to transport gaseous exchange through the intercellular spaces.
3. Food storage
4. Deposition of tannins.
NOTE: Xylem fibers do not conduct water.
Hence, they have much thick walls and narrower lumens than xylem vessels. Therefore they are good supporting tissues.
Choose wisely!!!
