the answer(carbohydrate) is correct.I agree with samson .carbohydrate is the only organic compound above in the option that has the ration of hydrogen to oxygen to 2:1. e.g the formula for glucose which is a carbohydrate is C6H12O6 .hence 12:6 = 2:1 .general formula for carbohydrate=Cx(H2O)y

its carbohydrates because carbohydrates, CHO, particularly simple sugars, have the general molecular formula of Cx H2y Oy. ie in the ratio C:H:O, as 1:2:1.
For example glucose has th formula of (C-H2-O)n, where n is 6, ie, C6 H12 O6

It can't be carbohydrate. Carbohydrates are 1:2:1

yeah, its carbohydrate....they purposely didnt put "CARBON" orderwise used the word "organic". the ratio of hydrogen is 2 while oxygen is 1....there u should know its "water"...from chemistry textbook, it is said that carbohydrates are "hydrated" carbons...which explain its general formular C(H2O). water serves as the "hydration"

It is carbohydrate because basingyesate has the general molecular formulas as....Cx(H2O)y.... Where x & y are large whole numbers.so, from d equation you can see that the ratio of Hydrogen H to oxygen O is 2:1. Understand?

Glucose is the perfect example to illustrate this.
C6H12O6
As you can see, the ratio of hydrogen to oxygen is 2:1

surprisingly they are correct that one we are all thinking is the general formula but the hydgen to oxygen ratio is 2:1
