Carbohydrates like glucose, sucrose, starch act substrates for enzymes like salivary amylase, maltase. Amino acids, peptides, proteins act as substrates for enzymes trypsin, chymotrypsin, etc.
So A is correct

Note that in chemistry, the left side of a reaction is called the reactants while the right side is the product.

It's not so in biology, the left side is the substrates and the right side remains the product. This therefore makes option A the right answer.
