Any plant suited for life in a habitat where water is scarce, such as in a desert or chaparral. Such plants may be succulent, have small or reduced leaves, or spines, stomata to reduce exclusive loss of water so their are small and spiky in shape

Diagram X is characterised by scared trees which is a feature of the Arid/desert zones. In this zone there is little or no water. So, any plant situated here, will have to adapt to water scarcity.
Xeromorphic plants survive where there's little or no water because they store a lot of water, once it's available to them.
