so after some days of more research, i got to realize that myschool might be actually just 100% right here.... And well, modern biology Page 106 says soil is the answer... so the textbook must be correct lol...

The answer is A. Rainfall... this is because, the amount of rainfall in a particular terrestrial environment is what determines the kind of organisms (plants and animals) that would be available in the environment. E.g in the tropical rain forest, theres abundant tall trees and various kinds of animals... this is due to more than sufficient rainfall in the environment, however, in the Desert or Sahel savannah, there's sparse vegetation and few animals which are adapted for that environment.. and the adaptation for the environment for both plant and animals are due to insufficient rainfall and are all adaptations to minimize water loss... Therefore rainfall is the most determining ecological factor in the terrestrial environment and not the soil.
