Cloning is the process of creating a genetic copy of a cell or organism. The copy is called a clone. Cloning involves the asexual replication of the genetic makeup of an organism. This process can occur naturally or artificially. It's asexual because all the genes in the new organism are from the same source, rather than being a mixture of the genes from two individuals.
