The main reservoir of water in the water cycle is the ocean. The ocean contains about 97% of the total water on Earth and is the primary source of water for the water cycle. Other sources of water, such as rivers, lakes, and groundwater, are ultimately replenished by precipitation that falls on land and flows back to the ocean through the water cycle. Clouds are a temporary storage point for water that is in the process of being cycled through the atmosphere. Plants also play an important role in the water cycle by taking up water from the soil and releasing it through transpiration.

i Think the correct answer is Because water are been buried under the porous layer of the earth crust and no or little agent that will remove the water will act upon it but in ocean the Sun and other aquatic animal will act upon it thereby reducing the water reservior

Bosses
this question is confusing me.
please somebody should explain why it's the ocean

The main reservoir should be ocean, because of the size and the quantity it holds especially.... 97% of the total water
