(b) Six problems associated with irrigation are:(i) Inadequate water source from streams, rivers and lakes. (ii) Irrigation equipment are expensive to purchase (iii) Pests from dry surroundings may invade and damage crops on irrigated lands. (iv) Lack of technical know-how on the operations of irrigation. (v) Vectors of diseases like snails, tse-tse fly breeds freely in irrigated areas. (vi) Disease-causing organisms increase with humidity due to irrigation.
