Good morning MySchool, I am not sure if this is the right channel to ask for an advice on choice of institution with familiarity to an environment I know best.
I will be glad to get a helpful comment about this post because I'm helpless and confused about it.
I have FUTA selected as my most preferred choice of institution for the academic session of 2019/2020 as a Jambite. I have tried UNILORIN for four consecutive times applying with JAMB but I end up not getting admitted due to low score in P-UTME or being average whereby I wouldn't get called up for admission.
I decided to make a changes with my choice of institution to another university ending up with FUTA as my first choice. My biggest concern is this :-
I am based in Ilorin and I fend for myself in Ilorin ( not earning that much). Not knowing anyone in Akure and FUTA environment gets me into thinking of how will I be able to survive while learning and leaving in campus!
I am the one trying to sponsor myself through to get a degree and with all options weighed, I can survive better in Ilorin than going out of the city to school anywhere else. The main reason why I changed choice of institution is because I can't afford to risk not getting admission to start the journey of getting a degree this coming academic session. I was comfortable with the changes I did for my choice of institution before because I see UNILORIN to be so competitive and most sought after university in the western states. I felt my chances of getting admitted to it this year again will be slim but here is the challenges to face going outside Ilorin and I never prayed to get admitted and along the line my enemy dropped out of school due to one reason or the other pertaining to funds or something related to surviving in the college.
Here are my challenges to face getting a degree and my Jamb score is 225 for the recent concluded UTME and my preferred course is Food science and Technology ( FUTA). I need an advice on what next to do either to change choice of institution to where I can reach out to making ends meet easily or stick to my former choice of institution and get a surviving skill on campus.
Looking forward to hear back soon before the changing of institution and courses by JAMB closes.
