1) Mitosis occurs durin d growth of somatic cells & as*xual reprodxn. Whilwe meiosis occurs durin gamete productxn n s*xual reprodxn.



2)in mitosis two daughter cells are formed while in meiosis four daughter cells are formed.



3) In mitosis d chromosome numba of parent & daughter cells is d same while in meiosis d chromosome numba of daughter cells is half the numba in the parent cell.



4) In mitosis no crossing over occurs while in meiosis crossing over occurs.



5) offsprings produced by mitosis are clones of the parent while in meiosis d offspring produced show variations among themselves & their parents.

Mitosis occurs mainly in (body/somatic cells),while meiosis occurs in reproductive cells.......

In mitosis,the parent cell is divided at the end into two daughter cells while in meiosis it is divided into four daughter cells.mitosis preceeds growth while meiosis preceeds reproduction.

1)Meiosis occurs only during gamate formation and it happens once before embryonic life. 2) mitosis occurs in body somatic cells and when during the replacement of worn-out tissues. 3)in mitosis only two daughter cells formed while in meiosis four daughter cells is formed.
