total displacement =12+5+7(m)
=24m
  • Jay-Jay: a^2=b^2 + c^2
    from issoceles triangle ABC
    a=7m,b=5m,c=12m

    divide the triangle into two

    we now have 2triangle
    ADC & BDC
    1)for ADC
    a=?,d=7m,c=6m
    a^2=d^2 + c^2
    a^2=7^2 + 6^2
    a^2=49+36
    a^2=85
    a=sqrt(85)

    2)for BDC
    b=?,d=5m,c=6m
    b^2=d^2 + c^2
    b^2=5^2 + 6^2
    b^2=25+36
    b^2=61
    b=sqrt61

    total displacement=a+b
    =sqrt85 + sqrt61
    =9.2+7.8
    =17m
