The Students' Union Government, Bayero University, Kano (SUG-BUK) wishes to inform all students that the University Management, through the Office of the Dean, Student Affairs, recently engaged with the Union on key modalities regarding hostel application and allocation for the upcoming academic session.

During this engagement, several important issues affecting students' welfare were discussed, and we are pleased to share the following updates:

Key Resolutions:

• No Increase in Hostel Fees: The Vice Chancellor has magnanimously directed no upward review of hostel accommodation fees. This is to ensure affordability and ease for all students.
• Improved Application Process: Efforts are being intensified to ensure a smooth, transparent, and seamless hostel application and allocation process for all eligible students.
• Renovation of Hostels: The University Management has commenced plans to renovate selected hostels to improve living conditions and enhance student comfort.

Eligibility for Hostel Application:

1. Students who have paid their University registration fee—either through personal payment or as verified beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)—are eligible to apply.
2. The application process will be conducted online, allowing students to apply from any location without the need for physical presence.
3. Additional guidelines and requirements will be communicated alongside the official application notice.

Application Timeline:

Students are hereby informed that the official date for the commencement of hostel application will be announced in due course through appropriate communication channels.
