The Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Professor Bamitale Omole, has said that the increase in tuition fee was in effort to meet up to the current economic realities in the country.

In his words, “considering the fact that the cost of providing education has risen nationwide and inflation has eaten deep into the allocation to the university from government, it is our duty to keep up with the standard,”

“In view of the need to continue to provide quality and competitive education for our students and the need to maintain infrastructural facilities in the university, the authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife deemed it necessary to review the charges upward”.
