JAMB To Resolve All Exam Issues Before Releasing Results As From 2018

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) last Saturday disclosed that it will henceforth ensure it resolve all issues concerning the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination before releasing the results.

This was disclosed by JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Mr. Fabian Benjamin, during an interview with newsmen in Abuja after the release of the July 1st supplementary examination.

He explained that the results were delayed to ensure that there were no issues in all the centres where the supplementary exam was conducted.

“The results had been ready as usual; we release results two hours after examination; this delay was because we wanted to take our time to clear all issues.

“This is also to ensure that all the CCTV at centres we conducted mop-up examinations were adequately fixed; we do not want situation where we release results before thinking of cancelling it.

“What we want to be doing now as we have started with this mop-up examination, and will be doing in 2018, is to ensure all issues are resolved before releasing results. It is our view that there is no need rushing to release results; it is better to do whatever is supposed to have been done, before we release the results,” he said.
He urged candidates yet to receive their supplementary examination results, not to panic, saying that no result from the mop-up examination was outstanding.

He mentioned that the breakdown of the result for the 2017 UTME can nit be made available at this time by the board because the board is yet to conduct the exam for foreign candidates.

“We are still writing exam and it will be unfair to publish the whole results when people are still writing. We just rolled out forms for foreign centres, so once we finish that, which is not going to take long, we will do the analysis and come to a conclusion,” He said.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it has established new methods of admission.

JAMB, in a statement signed by its Head of Public Relations, Mr Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja on Sunday, explained that it was to ensure fairness irrespective of tribe, religion, and that it was determined to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

Benjamin revealed that the Board had held consultations with universities across the country to enable candidates meet the requirements and secure admission without the assistance of anybody.

He, however, made it clear that cut-off marks will be decided at a policy meeting.

“Do not allow yourselves to be defrauded by internet fraudsters, the policy meeting would commence the 2017 admission with all mode, process and acceptable conditions for admission.

“The Prof. Oloyede led management is working to ensure transparent, acceptable and fair admission process.

“We have designed software known as Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), where human interference will be completely removed, to promote credibility.

“The admission criteria would be keyed into the software and it will select candidates blindly according to the institutions requirement without any primordial consideration,” Benjamin stated.

Sometimes I just sit back and watch the way everything in this our country is been run. It always makes me speechless bcos all these people running our afears are not or rather never conscious of our career that it's always at stake when ever they are making all these their rash decisions.

I cannot imagine that this soul called administrators never planned, they don't have any plan at all. They only sit when an unplanned events occurs and I believed in this computer age things are not done like that, USA and the likes would not say ok this exam is just only once so unforseen circumstances will not be much, never would they do that they have rather planned ahead of any circumstances that might occur in that exam even the planning might go as long as 15 to 20 years.

So I don't know how I should buy this jamb registrar idea that only find solution to a particular problem after it occurrence that must have cost some young fellow much costlier than money.
