More children were rescued from the rubbles of the school building that collapsed at the Itafuji area of Lagos Island in Lagos state yesterday.

The State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, visited the scene of the incident to sympathize with the families of those who lost their lives in the collapsed building. 

He said that the collapsed building technically not a school but was illegally accomodating the school. He aslo appealed to sympathizer to give the rescue workers the chance to save more lives. 

The Governor also said that there would be an investigation into what had happened, and culprits will be punished. He however stated that the investigation was secondary to the rescue operation and the saving of lives.
