The Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano, in the exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 4 of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Amendment Act, 2003, at its meeting held on Thursday, 3rd July 2025, considered the recommendation of the Selection Board and hereby approves your appointment as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, for a single term of five years with effect from August 18, 2025."

The announcement was met with widespread congratulations from across the University community. Principal Officers, staff, and members of the Senate and Congregation commended Prof. Musa’s appointment and expressed optimism about his leadership.

Prof. Haruna Musa, a Professor of Polymer Chemistry and the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), recently emerged as the top candidate during the University’s 7th Congregation Parley, where he earned overwhelming community support.

As he prepares to take over the reins of leadership, expectations are high that Prof. Musa will build upon the achievements of his predecessor and steer the University toward greater academic excellence, research innovation, and global recognition.
