Narrate the parable of the Sower and state two lessons that could be drawn from it.
The parable of the sower is all about a certain man who went out to sow his seeds. As he sowed, some seeds fell along the path and the birds came and devoured them. Other seeds fell on rocky ground where they had not much soil, so immediately they sprang up, since they had no depth of soil, when the sun rose, they were scorched, and since they had no roots, they withered away. Other seeds fell on thorns and the thorns grew up and choked them to dead. Other seeds fell on good soil and brought forth grains, some hundred fold, some sixty and some thirty.
Several lessons could be drawn from the parable of the sower:
(i) There are various responses to the word of God which the preacher preaches; each type of response determines the reward of the recipient. Thus, we are in a position to choose between punishment from God or eternal life.
(ii) Positive response and passing it on to the others leads to eternal life.
(iii) If response is negative, then follows damnation.
